A hands-on STEM-based enrichment program and competition.  For elementary level (grades 1st - 5th), events range from Aerodynamics, Chemistry, Structure, etc.  Each event has teams of 1-2 children compete, with regular practices to simulate and prepare for the competition.  All children interested can participate!

Benefits:

  • Stimulates children's brain (after school)

  • Reinforces creativity

  • Teaches collaboration and team building

  • Makes science FUN!

  • Makes friendship

What to anticipate:

Practices:

Children will participate in regular practices.  The practice schedule can be weekly or biweekly, depending on the volunteer coaches' schedule. They are setup to simulate and prepare for the competition event.  In practice, children will be challenged with different materials and problems, as well participate in larger groups, if needed.

Competition Day:

Competition Day will be a day filled with excitement.  The children will get to show off what they've learned and developed throughout the season.  Children and families will be able to congregate in a common area.  Children will move to their events, per the schedule, and see the benefit of their hard work!  Once all children have competed, judges will confirm the results, as we prepare for the closing ceremony!

Note: This year's competition is only within Fernwood Elementary School.

Registration Deadline is 2/10/2023
